City of Spokane Valley Outlines Comprehensive Plan

The City of Spokane Valley has recently adopted the 2017-2037 Comprehensive Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and supporting development regulations. The Comprehensive Plan evaluates growth and land use for a 20-year planning horizon. The FEIS reviews the impacts of proposed goals, policies, alternative land use plans and other features of the Comprehensive Plan. The City took a unique approach and integrated strategic actions in the Comprehensive Plan to implement its economic development efforts. For each strategy identified, the City designated lead staff, timetable for completion and level of priority. In addition, the City took advantage of the SEPA infill exemptions where it studied the transportation impacts in specific areas of the City allowing it to expedite the review process and promote development.
